been reading an article a coll sent me. one thing sparked me, which explains why tis new update in my blog.
the person was talking bout how we learn stuff by linking the characteristics of human behaviour into coherrent logical speeches and senarios.
i always thought kids learn things very easily when they r small cos their brain can absord lots of info, like a blank paper. along the time, the paper gets filled up, thus we got the term "u cant teach an old dogs new tricks" comes into existance.
so there's tis part bout em talking bout hidden wonders ( the stuff one doesnt know but the answers are inside tat person, if only they can tap into tat ) and bout creativity:
-- extract from article
MT: So, I'm wondering, if I feel like I'm not being my fully creative self and I'm having problems or running into obstacles about that, are there any insights that you can share about how I can transform what I see as a problem or an obstacle and allow my creativity, my innate creativity, to come through?
DM: How big is the obstacle?
MT: Medium size.
DM: Okay, what shape is it?
MT: Rectangular.
DM: Is it a color?
MT: Mustard.
DM: Mustard, oh, wonderful, a mustard rectangle. If it had a voice, what would it be saying?
MT: Just do it.
DM: Just do it, just do it...would it repeat that over and over, would there be a rhythm to that voice?
MT: Maybe, you might say that it was a rhythm...
DM: Yeah, you're body begins to move up and down, in a particular rhythm. If you were to play it like a drum, what would that rhythm be?
MT: Just do it...just do it...just do it...just do it...
DM: What key would you say that's in?
MT: Oh, boy, you got me! I don't know.
DM: I don't know either. If you could crawl inside of that rectangle, what would you find in there?
MT: think I would find hidden wonders, that I didn't know were there.
DM: So, what we're doing now, is ... you create with anything that's there. The artist doesn't complain that the paper is too small ... they take the limitations and they use the limitations and they work inside the limitation. A musician doesn't say, oh, my hand is too small--it's within the limitations that are given that creativity happens. So, you began creating with what you had seen as an obstacle, but that, in fact, became the object that you began creating with.
MT: So that's true for everyone, whatever one sees as an obstacle.
That's right, or a limitation.

i love the part bout "..The artist doesn't complain that the paper is too small ... they take the limitations and they use the limitations and they work inside the limitation. A musician doesn't say, oh, my hand is too small--it's within the limitations that are given that creativity happens. So, you began creating with what you had seen as an obstacle, but that, in fact, became the object that you began creating with."
it just shows tat anybody who's creative does actually work with smtg within their limitations, only they really make the very best of their limitations and brings it to another level of self-expression. i always thought creativity can either be inborn, learnt or nurtured, but not working inside their limitations. revelation really..ironic in another way as artist usually are supposingly goin against the flow in creating smtg magnificient.
new term of the day : Virtuous Intent
definition ; it is a term that is used in aikido. Not to mean your goal, but to mean, what is all of you aligned. What is the yes that is in your heart, that is in your mind, that is in your belly. What is the alignment that all of you was designed to bring here? You know your virtuous intent because there is no "buts." It's just, this is what I'm for, this is what my life is for. And because it benefits me, it benefits everyone else, and because it benefits everyone else, it benefits me. It's a little bit like a jelly fish that can be lined up with the might of the entire ocean. So virtuous intent is finding that inner agreement, and bringing it out.
inner agreement eh? i can relate to tat.
